Lennie is a graduate of Stanford High School and Montana State University with a degree in Animal Science/Production.  Lennie is a member of the MSU Alumni Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Montana Farm Bureau, Montana Hereford Association, Montana Public Lands Council and is also a member and past committee chair of the Montana Stockgrowers.  He is past president of Judith Basin Stockgrowers and president of the Highwood Mountains Livestock Association.  Lennie and his wife Marcia, and family operate Merrimac Cattle Company, a cow/calf operation near Geyser. Lennie has been a member of the Strand Foundation since its inception in 1998.
